SBY: Polri Must Give Their Best Service To The Public

The President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), asked Polri to work hard to create reforms in structural, instrumental and cultural within Polri. This is important so that the public will trust and feel secure. This was mention by the President during Polri Anniversary, July 1st 2009. Polri must implement the grand design strategy 2005-2025. The President also asked Polri to secure the presidential election using a persuasive approach.  SBY was also was there to open the inauguration of the online processing of drivers license and car papers.

POLRI Anniversary, Corruption and Brutality is Still the Impression of the Police

Polri celebrates their 63rd anniversary. Although they achieve a number of accomplishment, the negative side is still there. That is why they are reminded to make improvement. Hendardi, the head of SETARA (Institute for Democracy and Peace) mentions that the Police still have a negative mark of corruption and violence during a case investigation. He mentions that Polri must design a system to change their culture and improve their staff knowledge about the law besides just improving the police reward system.

POLRI performance not satisfactory, Head of Polri Head Apologise

Polri continues their reform program in serving the public. In Polri 63rd anniversary, the Head of Polri (Kapolri), Bambang Hendarso Danuri apologized for the lack of service towards the public. The Head of Polri will keep improving because up to now there are still police staff hurting the public. He mentions that people still view the police as arrogant. To change this Polri will educate their staff during their studying period. Within Polri organisation there are still fake recruitment and mutation that needs to be improve upon. Critics from the public and media will be the base for improving Polri reform program as a public serving institution.

Police Complete Dossiers on Nasruddin Murder Suspects

“Police complete dossiers on Nasruddin murder suspects”

The Jakarta Police have completed the dossiers on Senior Commissioner Wiliardi Wizar, media tycoon Sigid Haryo Wibisono, and six “field operatives” of the murder: Eduardus “Edo” Ndopo, JerryHermawan Lo, Hendrikus Kia Walen, Fransiskus Tadon Keran, Heri Santosa, and Daniel Daen. The police’s chief detective, Sr. Comr. M. Iriawan, submitted to the Attorney General’s Office on Monday the dossiers with the exception of suspended Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Antasari Azhar. The police had submitted the dossiers of the six operatives two weeks ago, but the prosecutors sent them back, citing incomplete evidence.

The lawyer of suspended anti-graft body chief Antasari Azhar, now the main suspect in the murder of Nasruddin Zulkarnaen, said Monday his client's wife Ida Laksmiwati had received  many telephone threats from unidentified callers. They had asked her to have her husband stop investigating several graft cases including the alleged corruption at the General Elections Commission (KPU).
